Afraid to go to the places we used to hang out,
we can still hear the sound of those explosions
Are we still independent?
Barely able to keep ourselves together,
divided by caste, money or religion
Are we still independent?
Struggling to find what's black and white,
compelled to challenge the authority of our governments
Are we still independent?
Trying to push hard to survive,
frightened to imagine the answer to this question
